Hemp and Marijuana are species of Cannabis that are both members of the Cannabis Sativa family.

Because Hemp and Marijuana are both derived from the Cannabis Sativa family, they do share certain similarities; however, due to each plant’s biological structure, they have several very distinct and crucial differences. Hemp has significantly higher CBD and lower THC content.

CBD has been found to have many medicinal benefits and may be useful for pain, inflammation, anxiety, neuropathy, mood, sleep and cancer to name a few conditions. There are currently 2184 research articles on PubMed on CBD.

Cannabidiol—CBD—is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD is non-psychoactive makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, seizures, psychosis and more.

Scientific and clinical research—much of it sponsored by the US government-underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions. Further evidence suggests that CBD is safe even at high doses.

The Endocannabinoid System

Since its discovery in 1992, researchers have been investigating the existence of a central regulatory system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is one of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body. In each tissue, cannabinoids perform different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, maintaining a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment. CBD is important to the ECS because CBD modulates endocannibinoid tone and may help keep healthy people healthy.

Quality

All CBD oil is not created equal. In order for CBD oil to work, you must choose a high quality product. I vetted the companies and the quality of the products that I recommend. I have even toured the manufacturing facility of one of our vendors. We routinely look at the manufacturer certificate of analysis to make sure the product is what they say it is.

Drug Interactions

There are a few reported drug interactions.
